Leufstabruk Bryggeri is a small independent craft brewery located in Lövstabruk. It was founded in 2010 by a group of homebrewers and released its first beer a couple of years later. A Helles lager is a traditional German pale lager, originating from Munich in the late 19th century, characterized by a bright golden colour, soft bready malt flavour, and low bitterness. It is designed for high drinkability (sessionable) with a clean, crisp finish, often featuring subtle, spicy noble hop notes.
So, I usually give a review about every beer but in this case, I just can’t and that’s simply because this was defective. The bottles we opened had massive sweetcorn and old newspaper notes in both aroma and taste, so something had clearly gone wrong somewhere along the line before we tried it. This was a big disappointment, as I’ve tried a number of beers from Leufstabruk over the years and they’ve all been fine so I’m not sure what happened here. I still recommend you check out their beers if you can but unfortunately in this case this wasn’t up their usually very high standards.
