Brygghus 19 is a brewery that has been featured quite a few times in the tastings over the years. Founded in 2012 in Karlshamn, they have slowly built a reputation for well crafted beers and stand out artwork. When I was looking for beers from Blekinge, I knew that Brygghus 19 would be the most obvious choice, but as they have such a good track record, I knew it would a safe bet to have them. Apricot and peach puree have been added to this beer for extra fruity notes and mouthfeel, and it was first released in Systembolaget in early September.

This had a mango yellow look to the beer, with a thick glossy body and a thin head that dissipated pretty quickly. The aroma was all about the apricot, with Jaffa, fresh grass and peach also found as mint notes at the back. The hops hit hard in the initial taste, with the apricot notes (especially the skin) coming through well. It almost tasted like you were biting directly into a slightly unripe apricot, with the high acidity balancing with the sweet fruit notes. The malts were not overwhelmed though and held their ground to be noticed amongst the fruit intensity. The carbonation was medium and left a bitter tang on the palate long after swallowing.

This was a very interesting hazy that balanced the fruit, malt and hop components well. I was especially impressed at just how vibrant the apricot was and it made every sip a well balanced fruit hit. Another great beer from Blekinge.
