The second Amundsen beer in the tasting was somewhat of a mystery, because there was very little information online about it. The little bit of information I did find out about it was that this pastry sour included cherry, pineapple and lemon purée. It was first released in May 2025 and is a limited-edition beer. It did have some beautiful artwork though, and as I wanted another sour in the tasting I hoped this would be a good fit.

This had a beautiful orange to red colour with clear clarity, topped with a thin pink head. Vanilla and cream were noted in the aroma, backed with hints of red fruits. I found this surprising as I expected the cherry notes to be more at the forefront. The cherry did finally come through in the taste, but it was definitely more of a sweet cherry juice rather than sour cherry as I expected. There were also hits of strawberry that led into a light almond note. The carbonation seemed pretty standard, but the body was surprisingly thin and was found lacking.

This was a hard beer to judge because although it was nice, I was slightly underwhelmed with the cherry and it lacked the fruity punch. I was left wanting a bit more in nearly every aspect of it. I could drink it again but for the price I wouldn’t buy it again unfortunately as there are simply better sours for the less money on the market today.
